wondering what i do with monetary support?community building takes energy and effort. i envision a community where we compensate hosts/mods/leaders for that time and energy, and make sure that event-hosting costs are covered. i dream of a community that shares resources (money, time, energy, etc) and is resourced enough to offer support to community membersi'm not here to sell you something, or sell myself for something. i only want to advertise or do a sponsorship for something if i believe in it. i'm currently employed, so i have the privilege to make this happen rn (which may not always be true)support given to one kind of event sticks to that event - stream related support goes to stream, event related support goes to that event, etc. i also do my best to spend money within our communities (e.g., money going back to MeetUps to keep hosting events & do mutual aid, commissioning emotes from a viewer, some of yall make really cool things that i like to buy too)never feel like you have to contribute monetarily - our community is open to you whether or not you can 'afford' to participate. we will never turn anyone away for lack of funds. my hope is that those who can afford to support our community will, and we'll be able to keep doing what we're doing
